This beautiful couple were also winners of one of my engagement shoot prizes at the Quintessentially weddings atelier at Claridge’s in November. I met the incredibly photogenic Henni Bateman-Williams who never stopped smiling throughout and her beau, professional rugby player Andrew Fenby at Fulham Palace in London for our one hour shoot and it was great to find out a bit more about this great couple. I always ask my clients where they met each other, as the stories are so varied and some so random and others, as with Henni & Andrew all it took was a friend (who will be Andrew’s best man) to suggest a date and then a few years later and boom, they’re engaged!
One Monday morning last year, Andrew took Henni away on a surprise trip to the Pig Hotel near Bath to propose with a fake engagement ring, as Henni concedes she’s possibly too high maintenance to choose a real ring for! They spent the day sipping champagne and sitting in the hotel’s beautiful gardens, then returned to London the next day to pick out a real ring. The couple chose Fulham Palace for their engagement shoot as it’s close to where they live and they’ve enjoyed a few summer afternoons when the flowers are in full bloom wandering around the peaceful grounds.
Andrew says he’s applauded for tying a unicorn down and that Henni is cute, intelligent and the funniest girl he knows. He knew he’d found the right girl because his friends prefer being with Henni to him! Henni says she honestly can’t remember what she did before she met Andrew, “He treats me like a queen and is the kindest, most caring, loving and loyal man I could ever have hoped to meet. He’s my best friend and I can’t wait to be husband and wife!”
