One Monday morning last year, Andrew took Henni away on a surprise trip to the Pig Hotel near Bath to propose with a fake engagement ring, as Henni concedes she’s possibly too high maintenance to choose a real ring for!  They spent the day sipping champagne and sitting in the hotel’s beautiful gardens, then returned to London the next day to pick out a real ring.  The couple chose Fulham Palace for their engagement shoot as it’s close to where they live and they’ve enjoyed a few summer afternoons when the flowers are in full bloom wandering around the peaceful grounds.

Andrew says he’s applauded for tying a unicorn down and that Henni is cute, intelligent and the funniest girl he knows.  He knew he’d found the right girl because his friends prefer being with Henni to him!  Henni says she honestly can’t remember what she did before she met Andrew, “He treats me like a queen and is the kindest, most caring, loving and loyal man I could ever have hoped to meet. He’s my best friend and I can’t wait to be husband and wife!”

The gentle light on the morning of this shoot was absolutely perfect for portraits – I say it all the time, but film is amazing at softening and illuminating skin and so flattering, hence why it’s just a brilliant choice for wedding photography, so shooting film and in such beautiful January light and I was in utter rapture!  There was even a hint of spring visible in places with a little blossom and lambs tails on the trees and snowdrops just starting to push their way out of the ground.  Louise & Robin were one of the two winning couples of my London engagement shoot competition I ran whilst exhibiting at the Quintessentially Atelier at Claridge’s last November.  The couple chose Battersea Park as the location for their shoot as it has been an integral place where their relationship has grown over the years and I love how seeing how happy and in love they are!

Engagement shoots are a really great idea as they get a couple more accustomed to being in front of the camera with each other, plus it’s an experience that is really personal to them before the hectic activity of the wedding plans gather pace.  Get in touch with me if you would like your own London engagement shoot, as there are so many incredible locations to choose from in this amazing city.

I was so excited to get my hands on the current February/March issue of You & Your Wedding magazine because there is a double feature of two very different wedding celebrations for the same couple that I shot last year.  Ashlee and Miguel’s Bristol city chic wedding and their beautiful fine art destination wedding in rural Spain (view the wedding here).  I’m still amazed at Ashlee’s constant calm demeanour at planning two weddings, one a full on destination wedding on consecutive weekends.

There’s nothing like seeing your work in print and all the hard work and attention to detail that went into both of those weddings have really paid off.  Having your wedding accepted to be published online or in print is such a fabulous extra momento of the day that you can keep and parents absolutely love it!Spanish wedding feature you your wedding magazine
